Attorney The candidate work with a Global Direct Sales and Marketing Company. The Attorney is responsible for supporting the General Counsel. The Attorney offers assistance in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, employee and vendor contracts, government reports, advising on regulatory and compliance matters, formulating handbooks, manuals and compliance related policies and procedures, analyzing legal issues relating to products, and identifying, assessing, monitoring, managing, and reporting on legal and compliance risk. Performs in-depth research on legal topics applicable to the company and monitors legal and regulatory environment for any changes. Manages the company's US portfolio and supervises outside law firms as needed. Partners with the business to advise how to shape company operations in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Prepares corporate documents necessary to obtain licensing from government and regulatory agencies. Analyzes and responds to agency inquiries and prepares updated reports for company management. Directs the preparation of compliance related policies and independently performs compliance monitoring, compliance assessments, and continuous legal risk assessments. Advises the Human Resources Department in the resolution of day-to-day legal issues related to employee management. Performs due diligence on new vendors. Drafts and successfully negotiates commercial agreements and other business related contracts. Complies with federal, state and international legal requirements ensuring reports are adhering to legal regulations and protecting the company compliance by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls. Reports and escalates compliance violations.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Advanced degree (e.g. Doctorate, PHD, MD, etc.). Law degree; active law license in at least one state is needed. Should have 5 years' experience dealing with corporate, legal and compliance matters in a law department or corporate law firm. Must have Strong legal research and writing skills. Should have strong negotiation skills. Must be fluent in written and spoken Spanish. Knowledgeable in financial regulations and consumer protection laws is required. Should have ability to manage litigation internally and oversee litigation by outside counsel.
