Intellectual Property Specialist The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the intellectual property databases. Will be managing intellectual property evaluation and acts as a liaison among faculty, students, staff, technology managers, and outside legal counsel to facilitate the processing of intellectual property and the filing of related documents. Analyzes and manages all communication from the beginning phase of receiving Invention Disclosure Form or Disclosure of Works Form through the expiration of patents and trademarks, including prosecution in between, maintenance fees and annuities. Docket in the database(s) for tracking activities/deadlines and due dates. Serves as liaison with students, staff, faculty, technology managers, and outside legal counsel to assist with flow and exchange of information. Corresponds directly with students, staff, and faculty to assure timely preparation and filing of intellectual property documents. Review and assist in monitoring and updating department procedures and materials pertaining to use of database software, including standard correspondence, to increase efficiency, timeliness, and processes of the department of notices to faculty and others.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have High School diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of experience in legal assisting, paralegal, docket management or database management. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Should preferably have experience as an Intellectual Property prosecution paralegal and knowledge of the USPTO deadlines. Deadline : 07/26/2018.
