Job Overview: A leading intellectual property law firm is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property (IP) Attorney to join its Chemical & Life Sciences practice group. This role is ideal for a candidate with 1-5 years of experience in preparing and prosecuting patents, specifically within the chemistry or chemical engineering fields. Location:

Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute patents in the chemistry and chemical engineering areas.
  • Manage IP portfolio for clients, providing legal guidance on patent strategies and protection.
  • Draft patent applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct patentability, validity, and infringement analysis.
  • Collaborate with clients, inventors, and internal teams on IP matters.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and legal developments related to IP and patent law.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in intellectual property law, specifically in patent prosecution.
  • Background in chemistry or chemical engineering (undergraduate degree required).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and client interaction abilities.

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications:

  • Admittance to the . Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred but not mandatory.
