Security Counsel, Law Enforcement Information Security The candidate will provide legal advice on the cybersecurity laws, regulations, and policies around the world that affect the company. Will counsel security engineering teams responsible for information security, security incidents, and vulnerability research. Communicate with external regulators, government agencies, technology companies, non-governmental organization, and others involved in information security. Advise investigators and engineers conducting investigations of criminal and APT actors. Provide legal counsel to the diverse range of issues affecting the information security of the company. Advise internal security engineering teams responsible for securing the company's platform, as well as the investigation of criminal and advanced persistent threats (APT) actors. Work by communicating with government agencies and external bodies about cybersecurity, vulnerabilities, and related issues.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. degree or equivalent practical experience. Must have 4 years of attorney experience (e.g., government, in-house, or law firm in internal investigations or cybersecurity). Should preferably have 7 years of attorney experience, including government, in-house, or law firm in internal investigations or cybersecurity. Significant in-depth, related experience, including experience with one or more of the following: laws around the world affecting cybersecurity, vulnerability disclosure, incident response, criminal and APT investigations; advising companies on compliance with security requirements and regulations; the legal mechanisms governing voluntary disclosure and the compelled disclosure of user data by service providers; and advising companies on referrals of criminal matters to law enforcement is desired. Must be admitted to the Bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
