Tax and Development Finance Attorney The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an accredited law school. Should preferably also have a degree or experience in accounting and/or finance. Must have 4+ years of relevant experience in complex entity structures, tax planning for real estate development projects, and federal and NYS tax credit transactions. Working familiarity with allocation structures for multi-tiered LLCs/partnerships to achieve economic agreements among project owners and investors is required. Transaction and project financing experience with developers, investors, lenders, governmental agencies, and bond issuers is needed. Planning, negotiating, and structuring project finance involving federal (LIHTC, NMTC, HTC) and/or New York State (SLIC, SHTC, Brownfield, and/or Empire Zone) tax credits essential. Should also have experience in merger and acquisition transaction structuring and financing. Must be licensed to practice law in New York State.
