Staff VP, Regulatory Affairs
The candidate will be responsible for developing and overseeing company legal strategy and filings on consumer technology issues before the Federal Communications Commission, Federal Trade Commission and other government regulatory agencies. Develop, review and coordinate company’s legal, regulatory, and policy strategy before the Federal Communications Commission. Federal Trade Commission and other regulatory bodies. Develop and draft filings before the FCC, FTC, and other regulatory bodies, as necessary. Represent company before the FCC, FTC, and other regulatory bodies. Lead, develop, and direct departmental staff by planning, recruiting, communicating job expectations, coaching, and training. Provide oversight on company legal matters within scope of issue portfolio. Coordinate efforts to attract FCC, FTC and other government officials to CES. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; benchmarking state-of-the art practices; participating in professional societies; speaking on professional panels to increase company’s visibility on regulatory and policy issues. Perform outreach with third-party groups to amplify company messaging on key policy priorities. Other duties as required by business needs.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have at least 10+ years’ experience dealing with or working at the Federal Communications Commission or Federal Trade Commission. Extensive knowledge of and work on communications and consumer technology regulatory issues. Bachelor’s degree in business, government, or related field of study preferred; law degree required. Requires outstanding oral and written communication skills; excellent public speaking skills; ability to build consensus; strategic planning capabilities; and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability of management of staff and budget.
