Manager, Tax The candidate will work with junior and senior members of the tax department in the design and maintenance of complex projects that include: attributes (e.g., earnings and profits, tax basis, foreign exchange and translation rules, CRS, FATCA, foreign tax credit, etc.); Tax consequence modeling (e.g., tax efficiency, transactional, legislative, controversy); and income tax provision (e.g., process, controls, etc.). Assist in and manage the advancement of the tax department practice including the implementation of new and existing quantitative solutions as well as compliance and provision processes. Research and provision of well written and verbal tax advice on complex U.S. international tax issues including supporting the global effective tax rate computations and the integrity of the global tax structures. Provide tax technical and project management support in designing and implementing global financing tax structures with efficient transfer pricing strategies. Coordinate with non-US controllership and local advisors on regional tax issues or planning initiatives. Provide technical guidance associated with all OECD initiatives concerning firm including managing all the existing and new processes related to BEPS requirements including CbC reporting data collection, preparation and/or review of form 8975, preparation of the group Masterfile, local documentation, country-by-country reporting and the preparation of the US §6662 report. Provide transfer pricing advice, benchmarking, and modeling for relevant controlled transactions as well as assisting on complex business transactions. Review existing policies and develop procedures concerning internal financial reporting requirements. Manage US and non-US tax assignments concerning Global Intangible Low Taxed Income, Base Erosion Anti-Abuse Tax, sub-chapter K computations, new §163(j) impact on E&P, UK thin capitalization rules, etc. Review internal and external valuation analysis supporting intercompany and/or unrelated transfers and provide tax implications thereof. Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to complex situations. Proactively build relationships; communicate effectively with the tax and non-tax team members.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent. JD degree, MST, or other applicable advanced degree. Should have 3+ years of experience in a professional services firm providing tax compliance or consulting services, preparing returns. Knowledge of the US system of tax laws and regulations and tax research tools and resources is needed. Understanding of international tax provisions; cross-border issues; and US compliance for international taxpayers such as foreign tax credits, controlled foreign corporations, withholding regimes, tax treaties, etc is must. Good analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills, and highly developed Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel) as well as CorpTax, Peoplesoft, OneSource and other tax software are required.
