Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with Illinois and federal estate administration laws.
  • Prepare estate tax returns and advise clients on strategies to minimize tax liabilities for estates and beneficiaries.
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to offer integrated estate planning and administration solutions.
  • Handle contested matters, including will disputes and fiduciary duty challenges when necessary.
  • Stay updated on changes in estate, tax, and probate laws to provide accurate and timely legal advice.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois and in good standing with the state bar.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estate administration, probate law, and trust administration.
  • Strong understanding of Illinois probate law and estate tax regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex legal concepts to clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Compassionate approach to working with clients on sensitive matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.

Skills:

  • Expertise in estate administration, probate, and trust law.
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and preparing estate tax returns.
  • Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle contested estate matters and litigation.
  • Knowledge of estate planning and experience drafting wills and trusts (preferred).
