Deputy General Counsel - Acquisition and Logistics The candidate provides advice and counsel on acquisition and other matters requiring contractual and policy decisions at the highest levels within the Department or referral to the President. Advice is provided in form of definitive written legal opinions, on-the-spot legal advice, and oral opinions requiring immediate policy decisions, review and coordination of acquisition and other policy positions prepared by the client organizations, and assisting client organizations in developing and articulating legally sound business responses to specific matters. Represents the Department's position on acquisition and other matters both within government and with contractors. Regularly represents the government for acquisition and other policy decisions within the Executive Branch, specifically with the Office of Management and Budget and other civilian agencies; at Congressional committee hearings and sub-committee hearings, and working sessions; and before the Judiciary. Provides assistance to the Department of Justice and Agency components for investigations and litigation of Agency acquisition and other matters. Advocates for Agency positions, particularly when legislative changes are required to enable the Agency to pursue stated acquisition and other policy goals.
