A law firm is seeking a highly skilled litigation attorney with a background in high-stakes legal disputes, particularly in areas such as product liability, construction-related claims, premises incidents, insurance matters, and other civil disputes. This role presents a unique opportunity for a legal professional with experience in insurance defense who is looking to transition into plaintiff-side representation, handling significant, high-value cases.
Manage a diverse caseload involving complex litigation from initial case assessment through trial or settlement.
Develop and execute litigation strategies, including legal research, drafting persuasive motions, and crafting compelling arguments.
Conduct and defend depositions, including those of expert witnesses, ensuring thorough case preparation.
Advocate for clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement discussions.
Collaborate with internal legal teams and outside experts to strengthen case positions.
Handle pre-trial preparations, act as second-chair in trials, and lead trial proceedings when required.
Stay informed on evolving laws and legal precedents impacting case strategies.
Experience: 5 to 8 years of litigation experience, particularly in areas related to product defects, construction-related disputes, premises liability, insurance-related claims, and general tort litigation.
Legal Skills: Strong legal writing, analytical reasoning, and advocacy skills; ability to construct compelling arguments and present clear case strategies.
Deposition Expertise: Proficiency in taking and defending depositions, including handling expert witnesses.
Trial Background: Experience in trial settings—whether through trial preparation, serving as second-chair, or leading proceedings—is highly valued.
Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in Arizona (AZ).
Additional consideration given to candidates admitted in other western states, including California (CA), Washington (WA), New Mexico (NM), Utah (UT), Oregon (OR), Colorado (CO), or Nevada (NV).
Strong litigation acumen with a deep understanding of procedural and substantive law.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on persuasive legal writing.
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a high-performance environment.
