Counsel - Military / Specialty
The candidate will report to an Assistant General Counsel and support the company, its management and subsidiaries. Will provide legal guidance regarding the TRICARE program, enabling statutes, regulations and associated manuals. Support the provider contracting & relation teams with negotiating and managing the provider network which is comprised of institutional, ancillary and professional providers. Advise internal medical management, IT and vendor contracting teams. Serve as a valued business partner with senior leaders. Conduct legal research to support growth initiatives and product strategies. Support sales teams with the submission of Local, State and Federal RFPs as well as provide legal support to defend or protest contract awards. Provide other types of legal services in support of the Specialty segment.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a J.D. degree with license in at least one state. Must have 3+ years of experience in health law at a law firm or in-house healthcare organization. Experience in Federal and State Procurement Process and Contracting or similar regulatory work is required. Experience negotiating contracts and settlement agreements is needed. Strong provider contracting experience is preferred. Experience with Telehealth, ACOs, Value Based Care and quality outcome based measures is an asset. Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations is a plus. Ability to provide legal advice on Federal Demonstration Projects and Pilots is ideal. Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills are essential.
