Legal Administrative Assistant RESPONSIBILITIES: Handle general clerical duties, including processing invoices, tracking expenses and case costs, generating expense reports, ordering supplies, etc. Conduct research, including internet research. Schedule meetings and conference calls, and prepare relevant material. Handle travel arrangements. Prepare, type, and proofread legal and other documents. Maintain and organize electronic and hard copy filing systems. Answer telephones, route calls and take messages. Copy, mail and perform other clerical duties as assigned. Provide administrative support for manager review of job applications. Work jointly with interns and communicate routine and/or procedural guidance on projects assigned by managers. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity within the office using a personal approach that values all individuals and respects differences in regards to race, ethnicity, age, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, ability and socio-economic circumstance. Commitment to work collaboratively and respectfully toward resolving obstacles and/or conflicts.
Qualification and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree and/or 1-2 years’ work experience preferred. Must be able to take initiative and be extremely organized. Strong organizational, time management and clerical/administrative skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; excellent telephone manner. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and have experience with Internet research. Excellent writing and proofreading skills. Must be able to work independently as well as within a team. An interest in civil liberties and reproductive rights is helpful.
