Family Law/Immigration Paralegal The candidate will provide case management assistance to Immigration and Family Law Attorneys. Perform routine clerical and secretarial duties to support the activities of the staff attorneys, including drafting and typing legal documents, conducting intake, researching, compiling and drafting discovery, making telephone calls, transcribing dictation, data processing, case file maintenance, meeting with clients, and record keeping. Educate and advocate for low-income people. Must be sensitive to and committed to providing high quality legal and advocacy services to domestic violence victims and low-income people. Strong client interviewing, written and verbal skills are a must. Must be detailed oriented and have good organizational skills. Must be able to follow directions and work with a team and independently. Should have strong typing and computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Legal Files database is required. Prior experience working in the legal field is preferred. High School diploma or GED required; BA/BS is preferred. Fluency in written and spoken Spanish is a plus.
