Part-Time Compliance Specialist
Responsibilities: Assist management in identifying and containing compliance risk compliance monitoring in the pharmacy setting. Provide continual risk assessment in the area of contractual obligations, pharmacy licensure, Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA), HIPAA protocols, and pharmacy operation policies and procedures. Report findings to the Compliance Officer. Assist in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of the compliance program and monitor its implementation. Assist in the development, coordination, and execution of various compliance testing and monitoring initiatives. Conduct periodic internal account/customer reviews to identify potentially suspicious activity. Ensure pharmacies are conforming with, and eligible for, required contractual obligations. Conduct various pharmacy audits to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and governmental requirements. Compile detailed audit reports with recommendations to the Compliance Officer. Make recommendations to the Compliance Officer on compliance issues. Report allegation of illegal actions immediately to the Compliance Officer. Maintain confidentiality involving audit findings or other investigations. Support data management requirements of the Controlled Substance Monitoring Program (CSMP) such as Purchase vs. Dispense monitoring, and review of pharmacy, prescriber, and patient transactions for activitiy warranting follow-up. Manipulate data as necessary to support CSMP and/or special investigation and/or compliance program reporting requirements. Serves as primary support for pharmacy law and regulation research requests. Executes or provides assistance with projects as assigned. Maintain and update databases and tracking systems. Create and design general correspondences, memos, business information etc. Proofread copy for spelling, grammar, and layout, making appropriate changes. Responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy. Create, compose, and edit technical and/or administrative correspondence and documentation; screen and evaluate incoming and outgoing correspondence and prepare responses. Prepare internal reports such as expense reports, IT requests, etc. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. Maintain good inter/intra departmental relationships. Work to create an amiable atmosphere within the department and company. Respond to change, performance improvement support, professional growth opportunities, and meet development goals. Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department. Comply with Maxor’s Code of Conduct policy and Compliance Program. Remain free from exclusion under the OIG Medicare/Medicaid lists. Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes. Maintain regular attendance in accordance with established policies.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred. 3 years of pharmacy audit related experience. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel products. 5 years' pharmacy operations experience; compounding experience. Roles within legal (paralegal), regulatory, audit, and/or compliance departments. Advanced technical level skillset with Microsoft Excel products. Strong attention to detail, organization, and consistently adhere to administrative procedures. Comfortable reviewing and researching state and federal regulations. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Effectively develop meaningful relationships with a wide range of individuals at all levels of an organization, both internal and external. Thoughtfully addresses requests for information and raise items to management as warranted. Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Continually seek ways to improve processes and propose changes effectively. Possess knowledge and experience to make administrative and minor procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues with little to no direction. Prioritize, organize and coordinate daily work timely; effectively work under pressure, and manage to competing deadlines with some direction. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality of company, personal, and sensitive information. Knowledge of clerical, office administrative procedures, and knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment.
