Paralegal
The candidate will researches law, investigates facts, and independently prepares documents to assist attorneys with matters. Summarizes complex legal documents. Organizes and indexes complex case files. Determines and calendars deadlines. Performs wide variety of legal research and data compilation, with little or no supervision. Files pleadings with court clerk. Prepares reports, correspondence, declarations and complaints. Drafts a wide variety of legal documents. Prepares affidavits or documents and maintains document file. Prepares for mediations and trials. Assists Attorney at trial and in preparation for depositions. Communicates with witnesses and experts. Scheduling. Must have paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university. Must have 6+ years of paralegal experience working in a litigation practice. Should have proficient in all Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Lexis-Nexis, WestLaw, Live Note, Concordance, Case Map, Docketing, Document Management System, expense and billing systems.

I would like to see better management put into place so that the work load is better balanced throughout the weeks and the months. This way there is always work to be done without being overwhelmed.

Pros : The starting pay is excellent and the benefits (such as 401K) are top notch. I also found everyone to be very helpful and the work environment was very laid back.
Cons : The overall work load on a day to day basis had too much variance. On some days I would have to work well past my normal hours into the night. During other day's I was left with nothing to do.
