Legal Counsel The candidate will work closely with our GC on a range of projects and initiatives. Significant focus in this role would be around various commercial transactions (including sales, channel, partnerships, integrations, vendor agreements etc.), with additional significant exposure to cutting-edge legal matters involving privacy/security, employment, IP, corporate, securities and other issues typical to high-growth information technology companies. Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial, technology, intellectual property, channel, OEM, supply chain and vendor agreements in line with our strategy, risk appetite, and other relevant parameters. Advise on commercial matters large and small, engage with sales, channel, procurement, support and other teams as needed. Respond timely and effectively to legal requests from sales, channel, operations, business development and other internal clients, and advise on recommended courses of action and legal risks. Support continuous improvement of standard form agreements, policies and legal processes related to commercial transactions. Support other legal matters such as data privacy compliance, employment/HR support, IP, corporate and contentious matters. Must have JD (or equivalent) degree, qualified to practice in one U.S. state, preferably California, with a track record of academic excellence. Should have 4+ years of strong commercial transaction experience with demonstrated success, and at least some exposure to prevalent channel sales models. True interest in the intersection of technology and law is needed. Excellent interpersonal skills, business judgment, strategic thinking, flexibility and ability to work independently is must. Experience with SaaS products, privacy/security matters, multi-national companies and high-growth technology companies is preferred.
