Corporate Counsel
Duties: Reviews advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with applicable competition and advertising laws and mitigation of risk of claims. Handles a broad range of corporate law matters, including compliance with corporate laws, preparation of corporate resolutions, maintenance of corporate records, assisting in acquisitions and mergers, review and preparing inbound and outbound software and other intellectual property licensing agreements, reviewing and preparing nondisclosure agreements, sponsorship agreements and miscellaneous contracts, and formation and dissolution of subsidiaries. Provides legal advice in a broad range of legal and regulatory compliance areas, including antitrust, retail price maintenance, anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws, insider trading laws, export controls and FTC, FCC and FAA rules and regulations. Applies knowledge of law to advise on legal rights and obligations. Researches applicable laws, regulations and rulings. Obtains and analyzes all relevant information in order to provide accurate legal advice. Works collaboratively and professionally with other associates in cross functional teams to achieve goals Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned by the Associate General Counsel or other in-house counsel. Serves as a resource on corporate, securities and regulatory issues.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Law Degree from an ABA accredited law school . Admission to any state Bar and eligibility for admission to the Kansas Bar . Must possess 2+ years’ experience either in private practice or in-house with demonstrated knowledge of corporate and regulatory law. Experience in advertising and marketing law preferred. Demonstrates knowledge of Garmin’s business and products . Demonstrates an aptitude to learn and effectively apply legal knowledge in the business context . Must be detail-oriented, particularly in document drafting and review, with the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and changing environment. Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others. Demonstrates organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality.
