Legal Assistant
The candidate's responsibilities will be to keep cases organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software; confirming case status with attorneys; provide clerical/administrative support to in-house counsel such as preparation of correspondence, arranging meetings and phone conferences, making travel arrangements, reconciling and submitting expense reports, and file management; provide paralegal-type support to in-house counsel such as assisting with discovery, including coordinating the collection and production of discovery documents in pending cases; assist with claims and litigation management, including the tracking of liability insurance claims from inception to closure and communicating with insurance brokers regarding same; assist with administration of insurance program, including managing open claims, gathering information, updating files, and communicating with insurance carriers, field, and team; support team members relative to risk, regulatory and litigation activities; communicate clearly to internal and external clients of the company; accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to the team and other tasks and duties as assigned and as related to the operation of the Legal, Risk Management, and Regulatory Department.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should preferably have a College degree (AA or better) from an accredited institution, with 3+ years of Legal Secretary and/or Paralegal experience. Prior discovery support experience in a defense-oriented law firm preferred. Experience in managing and assembling documents for production in or submission to regulatory agencies desired. Prior experience as an Administrative Assistant is helpful. Must have an understanding of insurance coverages and claims. Superior computer skills; Adept at Outlook, MSWord, Excel & PowerPoint required. Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills needed. Organization and attention to detail/deadlines are critical. Must be able to work well with others and participate in a team environment.
