A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated associate with 3-6 years of experience to join its thriving Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) Finance practice in Atlanta. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney with a background in real estate finance, securities, and capital markets to contribute to a dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in complex commercial real estate lending transactions and securitization, along with a commercial, client-focused approach to legal practice.

Duties:

  • Lead and manage a variety of finance-related transactions, with a primary focus on commercial real estate, capital markets, and securitization.
  • Oversee commercial real estate lending transactions, including modifications, workouts, and other servicing-related deals.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel on real estate finance matters, ensuring compliance and protecting client interests.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review complex financial and transactional documents, including loan agreements and securities filings.
  • Collaborate with clients to provide customized legal solutions for commercial real estate finance issues.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to provide relevant and effective advice to clients.
  • Work alongside colleagues and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of transactions.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in finance law, specifically in real estate finance, capital markets, and securitization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing commercial real estate lending and securitization transactions.
  • Strong drafting and negotiating skills, with a particular focus on transactional agreements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal issues clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a strategic and client-centered approach to legal work.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team setting while taking ownership of individual tasks and responsibilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in Georgia (or eligibility for bar admission in Georgia).

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Georgia, or actively pursuing licensure.

Skills:

  • Expertise in commercial real estate finance, including lending and securitization transactions.
  • Familiarity with capital markets and securities transactions.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Client-focused, with the ability to deliver legal services that align with business objectives.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
