Employment Law Staff Attorney The candidate will assist in preparing position statements, responding to requests for information from departmental agencies, interviews and other matters related to employment-related administrative agency proceedings (including responding to and handling EEOC, state, and local charges and similar DOL and OSHA investigations and proceedings). Will also assist with state and federal litigation matters, including preparing, drafting and responding to pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, reviewing and preparing documents for production, working directly with clients in discovery related phases of litigated matters, drafting briefs for discovery motion practice and/or summary judgment, and assist with trial preparation. Communicate frequently and effectively with client representatives.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have J.D. degree and active Minnesota attorney license. Superior academic performance and excellent research, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have 2+ years of solid employment law experience that includes experience defending claims at administrative and litigated levels with an in-depth understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws including Title VII, ADEA, ADA/ADAAA, FMLA, FLSA, USERRA, MHRA and other state laws. Experience and familiarity with claims before the Department of Labor-OSHA and specifically under the Federal Rail Safety Act (FRSA) a plus. Experience with client counseling on employment related matters also preferred.

Lawyers of this firm should begin expanding their services. If the firm growth increased in the later year their profits would greatly increase and more employees would be eager to work here.

Pros : This local firm enjoys catering to their clients and is truly dedicated to making them happy. Employees feel a sense of closeness working with this firm and the environment is much like family. Employees feel very close to one another and management seems to carry a bond with employees as well.
Cons : Although this firm has a great reputation among local folks, the business itself is still quite small. If other employees wanted to join this firm they would most likely have to wait a while. It seems this firm does not expand their employment for quite some time.
