Land Use Associate The candidate must be a mid- to senior-level associate preferably having 4-7 years of experience working on the entitlement of development projects. Should have solid experience and expertise in these areas: preparing CEQA documents for development projects and otherwise addressing CEQA issues; applying for, negotiating and securing entitlements and other regulatory approvals for development projects, including the drafting of findings and project conditions; and advising clients on a variety of land use, zoning and subdivision issues. Candidate who also has experience drafting and negotiating ordinances and real estate transactional documents relating to project development, such as development agreements, easement and parking agreements, sign ordinances, purchase agreements and ground leases, and cost-sharing agreements would be preferred. Must have strong academic credentials, and familiarity with the land use/zoning processes in the City of Los Angeles and other jurisdictions in the greater Los Angeles area. Experience with federal and state laws related to natural resources, coastal protection, historic preservation and affordable housing is desirable.
