2020 - Summer - Tax Associate - State and Local Tax
The candidate responsibility include: Integrating state and local tax services with existing clients. Completing tax planning and research. Understanding State and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements. Reviewing the client’s current process to determine where gaps or inefficiencies are present and provide solutions to the client to improve their procedures and reduce exposure. Working with the client’s IT Systems personnel to obtain data downloads of historical purchasing and sales to be analyzed for reporting, audit, review and/or refund potential. Helping the client to identify and uncover available refunds and/or credits. Assisting the client with sales tax software systems selection and implementation. A B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university. JD required. Accounting major. Travel to assigned client locations is required. Must have access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to those locations. Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred. Should preferably have Working toward the successful completion of the CPA exam - tax associates have the opportunity to obtain the audit hours required for full certification.
