Profile

Litigation Paralegal The candidate provides direct support to attorneys performing complex tasks including preparing pleadings and discovery for trial; coordinating the production of third party records; preparing depositions and subpoenas in compliance with state and federal regulations; trial preparation and management of trial exhibits; analyzing, reviewing and organizing privileged documents/data for document production and discovery responses, docketing deadlines, assisting with preparation of federal and state administration filings; drafting investigative reports; and conducting legal research using Lexis Advance, BNA, and other research tools, and additional duties as assigned. Should preferably have a Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate with 3-5 years of litigation paralegal experience, excellent interpersonal/communication skills, including strong writing skills, ability to multi-task and work within deadlines, keen knowledge of e-discovery issues and familiar with state court/agency regulations. Must also be proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and other office tools, including e-discovery software and document management platforms.

Improving communication would be the biggest thing that needs work. Let your associates know what is going on within the firm so that we can do our jobs correctly.

Pros : The work/life balance here is very good and the office environment is conducive to getting things done. Support staff is well trained and everyone seems very willing to help out if needed.
Cons : Communication from management seems to have hit a brick wall. Nobody can ever quite decide what direction to take the firm in, and important information is always revealed at the very last minute.
