Associate General Counsel DUTIES: Advise management on various legal issues relating to the business of the Company. Review, draft and assist in the negotiation of various commercial contracts and agreements (on both the revenue generating and expense side). Support new product development from both a commercial and regulatory perspective. Oversees the development of programs to prevent and detect violations of laws, company policies, and other misconduct; promote ethical practices; and ensure the implementation of the compliance program throughout the organization. Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements, legal processes and policies, and contract management. Liaison with in-house counsel in Mexico and Canada as required.
Qualification and Experience
REQUIREMENTS: Law School: preference will be given to a nationally ranked school. 10+ years' experience as an attorney with: Any previous firm experience should include AmLaw 100 firm experience; A current in-house corporate position, with a strong preference given to financial services, payment processing or ATM management experience; Experience conducting complex contract negotiations and drafting; Advised senior business team leaders on key legal issues; Experience supervising other attorneys or paralegals; and Experience reporting directly to Senior Management. Prior Success—whatever prior experience must have clearly demonstrated success in supporting a growing business, managing external costs and/or growing a legal team. Though not essential-each of the following is a ‘plus’: Regulatory work with or for a financial institution or payments business; Experience in Europe, Mexico or Latin America, Australia or South Africa; and Fluency in Spanish Experience in the payments or ATM industry is a significant asset. Must be able to successfully pass all applicable background screening tests. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
