Assistant General Counsel (Equipment Finance) Duties: Providing legal counsel and advice to management and staff regarding the brokering of business-purpose loans and leases and soliciting and/or brokering non-real estate secured consumer loans. Providing legal counsel and advice to management and staff regarding operations and initiatives within the payment processing industry. Providing legal counsel and advice to management and staff within other areas handled by the Legal Department, including contracts, intellectual property, litigation, corporate governance, and other legal matters relevant to company operations. Developing and executing legal processes handled by the Legal Department. Performing legal research and providing legal advice in association with business operations and initiatives. Assisting with legal projects and initiatives. Overseeing outside counsel (as needed) to assist with legal matters related to the company’s . and international operations. Perform such other related duties as may arise from time to time in support of the efforts of the Legal Department and the company.
Qualification and Experience Qualifications: A JD Degree from an accredited law school and a valid license to practice law in the State of Nebraska or Arizona. 3+ years of legal practice experience at a large law firm or in-house legal department. Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate a broad range of contractual agreements, and provide advice on employment matters, intellectual property issues and general corporate matters. Exemplary written and oral communications skills, including the ability to summarize issues and the means to address them. Self-starter with strong motivation and sense of ownership. Outstanding attention to detail, multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to quickly prioritize and meet critical and sometimes competing deadlines. Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential and sensitive matters.
