Civil Litigation Paralegal The candidate will work closely with the Managing Attorney and leadership team. Ability to work independently and oversee the daily operations of the Firm's satellite office. Opening and closing the office. Greeting office guests and vendors. Maintain attorney/hearing calendars. Interviewing clients and witnesses. Case fact-gathering and retrieving. Engage with attorneys in case planning and recommendations on how to proceed. Conduct legal research. Draft, revise, and produce legal pleadings and briefs and discovery. Ability to produce correspondence, proofread for grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Will have to do the billing approximately 125 hours per month, which works out to 6 hours per work day. Will spend at least 5 hour per month on firm promotion through various marketing channels.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree. Appropriate certification as a Paralegal (see California Business and Professions Code section 6450(c)). At least 2-5 years of Paralegal experience is required. Basic accounting skills with a high degree of accuracy. Writing skills. Ability to multi-task and adapt to constantly changing priorities. Experience in client intake, accounts receivable, human resources, operations. Strong client relations skills. Civil litigation experience. Previous experience working for any of the California Departments (e.g. Real Estate, Medical Board, Alcohol Beverage Control, etc.). Must be able to communicate well with potential clients, clients, staff, and attorneys. Must be ready and willing to accept the additional responsibilities and projects ad hocas as required.
