A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Private Credit Associate Attorney with substantial experience in lending and finance transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private credit, including cash flow deals, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and recapitalizations. Experience with asset-based financings, restructurings, and workouts is a plus. This role involves working on complex financing matters, providing strategic legal advice, and managing client relationships.

Duties:

  • Provide legal support and counsel on private credit and financing transactions, including cash flow deals, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and recapitalizations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate financing agreements and related documentation.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of financing transactions from inception to closing.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and implement effective financing strategies.
  • Offer expertise on complex credit transactions, including asset-based financings, restructurings, and workouts.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence and analysis to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and coordinate with other legal and financial professionals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, legal developments, and changes in financing regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing high-quality legal services and strategic advice.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the state of employment (Washington, DC).
  • 3-6 years of experience in private credit and finance matters at a nationally recognized law firm or other relevant legal experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in lending transactions and financing agreements.
  • Strong understanding of cash flow deals, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and recapitalizations.
  • Experience with asset-based financings, restructurings, and workouts is a plus.
  • Proven ability to handle complex financing matters and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the state of Washington, DC.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of private credit and financing transactions.
  • Strong experience with cash flow deals, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and recapitalizations.
