Vice President, Regulatory Affairs
The candidate will be responsible for directing regulatory strategy for the company, managing government regulations, monitoring regulatory proceedings, and maintaining positive government engagement. Interface with agency officials as well as with the organization to actively understand and improve overall business impact of regulatory decisions. Supervise outside counsel in drafting filings with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and at times state utility commissions. Act as key contact to the NCTA on regulatory issues. Actively and consistently support all efforts to advance business goals and enhance the customer experience. Develop and define company positions on regulatory issues and create and execute strategy for achieving regulatory goals. Actively monitor, analyze, and assess the impact of pending and potential regulatory proceedings on the company and design strategies to further the company’s business objectives. Develop and draft strategic proposals and support documentation regarding regulatory agencies. Draft policy memoranda for executives, including CEO. Build relationships with companies and outside advocacy groups to support and achieve regulatory objectives. Supervise and direct outside counsel in the development and drafting of regulatory filings. Provide expertise and guidance on FCC regulatory matters. Prepare and present company positions before regulatory authorities and at public events. Develop and maintain professional and social contacts with government officials and agencies. Coordinate with business and legal contacts regarding regulatory strategy and compliance. Assist in identifying and escalating legal compliance issues to the appropriate corporate legal contact. Coordinate with Communications team as needed to support positive media relations. Perform other duties as requested.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Should have ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner. Must have ability to handle multiple projects and tasks. Should have ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure. Must have ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Should have knowledge of cable television products and services. Must have detailed knowledge of FCC procedures and processes. Should have Bachelor's degree. Must have Law degree. Should have Active license to practice law. Must have 7+ years of Cable and/or telecommunications legal experience. Should have 10+ years’ Legal experience.
