ProfileLegal Assistant The candidate will assist the Executive Vice President - General Counsel and Corporate Secretary and/or other attorneys within the Legal Department in connection with law suits, subpoenas, legal research and other legal matters. Will assist all attorneys in the Legal Department in connection with law suits, subpoenas, legal research, and other legal matters. Supervise, organize and maintain Law Library and legal research tools. Handle various compliance related issues and items, including unclaimed property reports/filings. Maintain database of company contracts. Assist with matter management system administration. Assist with the board portal and corporate governance. Draft and prepare simple documents, agreements and forms. Perform other projects as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should preferably have a Bachelor’s or Associate college degree. A Paralegal certification a plus. Must have 2-6 years of work experience in a law firm or in a legal setting as a legal assistant or paralegal. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish. Experience in legal research (Westlaw and/or LexisNexis) essential. Trial experience a plus. Must be proficient in Word and Excel.
