Legal Counsel, Corporate Engagement Project The candidate will work under the direct supervision of SVP and undertake multiple projects including writing assignments, research, public speaking, and relationship building. Will interact with business leaders, Attorneys, Blackstone Fellows, and various ADF teams to develop programs and resources to advance the Project. Assist with developing communication strategy and content to business community. Conduct legal and topical research of business related topics. Answer legal inquiries from Christian owned businesses. Advise Christian businesses on faith in the workplace issues. Make presentations on faith and work issues; conduct training seminars. Work with Allied Attorneys on referrals and matters. Advise attorneys on legal issues within areas of competence. Research, draft, and file shareholder resolutions. Identify and recruit business clients for ADF legal team. Assist with coordination of amicus efforts on business related cases. Manage the ADF Corporate Resource webpage(s). Draft blog posts, articles, legal summaries and research papers. Develop materials for Fortune 1000 companies on faith in the workplace, religious diversity. Cooperate with Development team, including speaking engagements and other events. Interact with media regarding cases and issues. Interface with and support Christian business membership organizations. Interface with ADF’s policy team to coordinate local business support of or opposition to legislation. Interface with Blackstone Alumni team to identify local and general counsel for Christian businesses. Assist with Corporate Counsel track at Religious Liberty Summit.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have Bachelor’s degree and JD degree, license to practice law. Should preferably have 1 year of legal experience in corporate law, labor and employment law, shareholder actions, and litigation. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, and Westlaw is required. Excellent organizational skills is needed.
