Staff Attorney Candidate will provide complex legal advice, counsel, and representation to Corporation and its family of companies. Interpret and implement applicable state and federal laws, rules and policies. Review, negotiate, and prepare legal documents necessary to facilitate diverse transactions. Formulate, develop, implement, interpret, and review regulations, policies and procedures to include identifying the need for policy development or changes to protect and serve the Chenega’s legal interests. Represent Chenega in state or/or federal courts as well as administrative forums of competent jurisdiction. Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest developments in government contracting law and in other related matters. Identify risks and propose alternative solutions to mitigate risks. Draft transactional documents. Provide asset and corporate level due diligence. Provide counsel and work as a team with others within the Strategic Business Units.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Law degree from an accredited law school and 3+ years legal experience. Experience in any of the following areas a plus: employment law, Small Business Administration 8(a) program; government contracting. Must be a member in good standing of the Alaska Bar Association, or a member in good standing of another states’ bar association and become a member of the Alaska Bar within the first year of employment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to analyze information and identify the relevant factual and legal issues. Ability to communicate effectively orally, including the ability to make oral presentations. Ability to write clear, concise, accurate, and complete legal documents and reports. Knowledge of and ability to apply fact-finding and investigative methods, techniques, and procedures.
