Litigation Paralegal The candidate will collect, organize and index written discovery, document production, evidence and other important papers for lawyers to review. Will perform research on applicable regulations, laws and administrative procedures. Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, written discovery and contracts, as well as correspondence with clients and other parties. Process and follow up on authorizations for the receipt of medical, employment, FOIA, and other records. Prepare reports, abstracts and memoranda for lawyers throughout litigation. Summarize deposition and/or trial testimony throughout litigation. File documents, such as briefs and appeals, including preparing exhibits and ensuring compliance with local court rules. Arrange meetings and depositions with clients, witnesses and other lawyers. Attend to basic clerical tasks, such as photocopying, telephone calls and fielding correspondence. The candidate should preferably have a Bachelor's degree. Paralegal certificate is required. Must have 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a fast paced environment. Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Word is essential. Knowledge of e-discovery procedures, protocols and platforms is needed. Experience drafting and responding to standard written discovery requests and responses, and preparing other litigation documents is a must. Should be familiar with electronic document management and filing systems. Must be proficient in searching and retrieving information from various online databases.
