Director of Legal Process Management The candidate will analyze handling and delivery of legal services from an LPM perspective in order to improve client service (including compliance with client guidelines), efficiency, and profitability. Will apply LPM principles as well as Lean and Six Sigma methodology. Develop and implement business plans to effectuate improvements. Develop LPM processes for new books of business (including integration of lateral partners) to integrate clients and matters into the firm. Analyze IT requirements and serve as liaison with IT department. Coordinate with other internal departments, including billing, accounts receivables and new matter intake. Develop LPM tools and resources to meet the firm's new and changing needs. Provide training, coaching and mentorship related to LPM. Maintain the firm's LPM website and create and maintain online training sessions. Work with marketing department on pitches, proposals and RFP responses. Keep abreast of legal industry trends and developments, including legal technology, and make recommendations on how to implement same within the firm.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should be a licensed attorney with insurance defense litigation experience, including management of own caseload through trial, in either a law firm or staff counsel setting. Executive level experience at an insurance carrier or other corporation, or within a law firm is required. Experience managing projects, including the development and implementation of project plans is needed. Should have experience managing litigation using a Legal Project Management (LPM) approach, both at the individual case level and in the management of client caseloads. Extensive experience in the selection and use of various IT systems, including case management, legal budgeting, legal billing, and document management, is needed. Must have extensive experience with data and metrics analytics, including the design and use of databases and the design and implementation of scorecards and dashboards. Should have ability to engage with attorneys and staff at all levels.
