Senior Attorney - Real Estate Reports to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel and is responsible for providing legal guidance and recommendations on legal strategies, problems and issues facing the various divisions of the Authority. Will be responsible for negotiating lease terms and conditions; drafting leases and assignments of leases; negotiating SNDAs; and coordinating with Real Estate Services staff, the Legal Department, Construction Management staff , and Architecture & Engineering teams with respect to matters relating to the design and construction of lease build-outs. Providing legal advice to Real Estate Services staff, Landlord-Tenant Relations staff, the City Department of Education; and senior management regarding leasing matters; Negotiating and drafting license agreements, letters of intent, memoranda of understanding, and other real estate related documents; and Conducting legal research with respect to legal issues and other matters pertinent to the real estate and leasing program, business operations, and construction program.
Qualification and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a JD degree from an accredited law school; a license to practice law in New York State; and 4+ years of full-time, post-bar admission, diverse legal experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, and/or government agency handling real estate matters; and other contractual issues; and general business matters. Must Have Real Estate Experience.Excellent written and oral communication skills; problem solving and interpersonal skills; negotiation and drafting skills; and the ability to handle multiple projects and achieve results within expedited timeframes are required.
