The candidate should have 5-8 years of experience. Substantial experience working with private equity funds in connection with acquisitions and financing of real estate assets and institutional lenders that originate loans, preferably with lenders. Must have business experience that can be converted into client relationships and substantial experience running transactions with minimal oversight. Outstanding academic credentials and law firm experience are required. Must be admitted to the California Bar.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Handles all real estate related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning. Provides legal advice to an organization, prepares resolutions and forms, and participates in major legal actions. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to the real estate partner and/or practice group leader.
Work directly with attorneys and clients during closings and corporate transactions.
Provide partner(s) with assistance in the preparation for and closing of various real estate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. In addition to analytical and verbal/written communication skills, it is essential to develop a broad business law foundation and strong negotiating skills. Time management and organizational skills are of the essence for handling multiple cases and documents at any given time.
