Job Title: Bankruptcy Attorney
Job Overview
A respected law firm in Dallas, TX is seeking a dedicated Bankruptcy Attorney to provide exceptional legal support and representation to creditors involved in foreclosure, bankruptcy, and related litigation matters. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment, where compliance, quality, and risk management are priorities.
Duties
- Coordinate with attorneys and support staff on procedures in bankruptcy practice, including steps, documents, and local filing requirements.
- Offer loan-level recommendations, ensuring policies align with the Federal Bankruptcy Code, local rules, and case law.
- Review various bankruptcy filings, including proofs of claim, notices of mortgage payment changes, and notices of fees and costs.
- Draft pleadings, motions, certifications, objections, orders, memoranda, and letters.
- Represent clients in hearings, settlement conferences, and other legal appearances.
- Keep clients updated on case progress and developments through appropriate channels.
- Promptly handle communications with opposing counsel, court staff, trustees, mediators, and other involved parties.
- Escalate case matters as necessary.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to engage effectively across all levels.
- Excellent organizational, time management, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage priorities and workflow in a high-demand, high-volume environment.
- Capacity to collaborate and communicate with a diverse range of legal and client stakeholders.
Education
- Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications
- Active Bar membership in good standing in any . state.
Skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Prior experience in representing secured creditors/mortgage services (preferred).
- Experience with bankruptcy or default mortgage industry (preferred).
