Legal Assistant (In-House Corporate Practice) Duties: Handling the administrative functions of the department. Coordinating and scheduling travel arrangements, conference calls, and other meetings. Organizing and maintaining files related to various matters. Tracking and coding all expenses related to outside law firms. Communicating with inside and outside customers to gather and consolidate information to convey to the General Counsel. Preparing, revising, and formatting agreements and other documents including proofreading, tracking changes between drafts, and identifying inconsistencies. Under the direction of the General Counsel, compose and review contracts or other documents. Receiving and screening telephone calls and correspondence. Composing and sending written correspondence. Assisting with maintenance of the corporate records and licenses of the Company and its subsidiaries. Completing special projects and other administrative assignments as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience Requirements: High school diploma required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or paralegal training is preferred. Familiarity with standard legal concepts, practices, and procedures, knowledge of legal terminology. Proficient PC skills including MS Office Suite to include Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Working with LegalFiles (or other similar legal filing software is a plus). Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Must be able to understand and communicate effectively, both verbal and written, in a high-paced construction environment. Must be a self-starter with the ability to identify work needing to be accomplished without constant supervision.
