Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be supporting 2-4 attorneys in complex litigation matters. Will include: Calendaring. Preparing shell templates for law and motions and pleadings. Proofreading, reviewing, and finalizing for filing and service. Propounding and responding to written discovery requests, deposition notices, subpoenas, and public record requests. Electronic and/or fax filingin courts and serving to opposing counsel. Trial Preparation. Basic correspondence. Filing pleadings/motions with the Courts. Coordinating motion hearings for attorneys. Copying/scanning/opening files. Preparing documents needed for clients. Conducting basic legal research. Assisting attorneys in discovery. Reviewing documents and summarizing deposition transcripts.

Requirements: Paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program and/or trial experience are highly preferred. Paralegal certificate or post secondary degree from an accredited institution that requires completion of 24+ units of legal courses (preferred). College degree (preferred) (high school diploma mandatory). 3+ years of paralegal experience working in civil litigation (required). Must be highly motivated, a self-learner, responsible, energetic, computer literate, extremely detail-oriented, and have excellent written and verbal skills. Must have 3+ years of prior litigation experience at a law firmand must have an in-depth knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure and California Rules of Court. Strong work ethic. Highly motivated. Works well independently and within a group dynamic. Reliable and dependable. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Excellent ability to prioritize and multitask. Work effectively as part of a team to achieve established outcomes. Strong writing and communication skills.
