Duties: The candidate will review and negotiate construction and commercial agreements; prepare and respond to redlines based on Company’s risk profile, contracts playbook standards, and project-specific risks. Analyze contract provisions and propose recommended action/treatment to internal stakeholders. Work with project teams to issue notices and provide project-related correspondence. Manage subcontract and purchase order agreements including requested deviations. Provide daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually reporting as required by the supervisor. Perform other items as assigned.
Qualification and ExperienceQualifications: The candidate should have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited school and admission to at least one State Bar and 2+ years of experience as counsel within a law firm’s corporate/business/construction practice group or in-house legal department within the construction industry. Possess subject-matter expertise in contract and risk management principles and techniques. Demonstrated experience managing and negotiating upstream (client/owner) and downstream (subcontractor/vendor) construction agreements including EPC/CSA/MSA and various procurement and professional services agreements. Possess a thorough understanding of common construction agreement provisions including indemnities, warranties, limits of liability, risk of loss, schedule milestones/LDs, force majeure, and change orders. Ability to negotiate difficult and complex contractual provisions. Strong organizational skills, initiative, and meticulous attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to deal with multiple assignments, prioritize, and progress assignments without constant oversight. Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel). Familiarity working within Share Point.
