ProfileParalegal Legal Assistant The candidate entails assisting the firm's three attorneys with matters related mostly to employment, labor, public interest, and civil rights law. Ideal candidates will have some general interest in these areas or a willingness to learn about them. The paralegal's responsibilities include calendaring and docketing deadlines and court dates for all attorneys, fielding phone calls, managing legal administrative tasks, conducting legal research, drafting and proofreading pleadings, motions, discovery, and affidavits, assisting in trial preparation, as well as working closely with attorneys to ensure deadlines are met. Attorneys at DSG do a great job of giving paralegals true legal experience, which includes going to court and meeting with clients. Most former paralegals have gone on to top law schools or graduate schools. Paralegal experience or certification is helpful. Should have Bachelor's Degree with a GPA of 3.0 or above. Must have ability to multi-task, juggling multiple, often time sensitive assignments from multiple sources without need for follow-up or close supervision. Applicants must be ready to start in the position by April 2, with some flexibility possible for the right candidate.
