Senior Attorney The candidate will represent unaccompanied immigrant children in complex legal matters, and provide mentoring and support to staff attorneys. Will work closely with the Children's Legal Program Director to develop complex legal and advocacy strategies, mentor staff attorneys, and engage with stakeholders. Provide direct representation to unaccompanied minors before the USCIS, EOIR, Board of Immigration Appeals, and in Florida state court child welfare proceedings. Help build and maintain effective relationships with public and private legal and social service organizations. Contribute to local and national advocacy efforts on behalf of unaccompanied minors.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Law degree with Bar membership. Florida admission preferred. Must have 5+ years of experience assisting immigrants and asylum seekers in their claims for relief before immigration authorities. Experience working with unaccompanied immigrant children preferred. Demonstrated commitment to defending the legal rights of immigrants is required. Bilingual Spanish skills are required.
