Director, Software Licensing Attorney
The candidate will engage and provide legal support and direction to APG executive management regarding automation and technology focused aftermarket business. Directly negotiate or oversee the negotiation, structuring, and management of contractual documents that establish business relationships with customer and third parties. Support and navigate a wide range of legal issues including antitrust, intellectual property (creation, management, enforcement and infringement), licensing, UCC, trade, bankruptcy, employment, application of international law, tax, EH&S, and regulatory compliance. Provide proactive and strategic legal advice to executive staff, including attending and participating in all executive staff, operational and product meetings. Engagement with internal IP and litigation counsel to enable IP (patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret) procurement and enforcement strategies that drive meaningful impact to the business. Manage the generation of template agreement and legal support process/cycle time improvements. Actively advise, develop and manage copyright strategies for software and data analytic business. Lead and contribute to the development of business processes and policies to better enable achievement of business objectives, mitigate risk, reduce inefficiencies and improve effectiveness. Collaborate and drive change management programs in a matrix managed organization. Provide training and develop programs to protect IP and accomplish business goals. Manage outside counsel and related budgets. Must have Doctorate Degree. Should have 10-15 years’ experience.
