Senior Public Policy and Advocacy Manager The candidate will engage with policy makers and will influence stakeholder community to advance quality in medicines, dietary supplements, healthcare quality, and food. Dialogue with federal and state policy makers on the role of quality standards in ensuring patient safety, consumer protection and robust competition in medicines, dietary supplements and food and advancing new ideas to improve quality. Partnering with the firm Communications team and other staff, produce and evaluate advocacy, education, and other communications materials (such as position papers, op-eds, talking points, action alerts, newsletters, and content for the website) that help educate stakeholders on the role of quality in contemporary public health and consumer protection issues. Play an active role in key coalitions and advocacy groups to advance specific policy goals and actively seek opportunities to collaborate with stakeholders to advance quality. Track and evaluate current political developments and contextual realities on issues related to firm programs and priorities. Analyze information from internal and external sources to feed into the development and revision of policy strategies. Support and facilitate the development of policy positions reflective of organizational priorities.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have 5+ years of professional advocacy experience working in life sciences or public health; some demonstrated experience at the US Federal level including experience in Congressional advocacy. Should have BA/BS in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Health or a related field required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for candidates with higher degrees. Advanced degree in law, medicine or other related field is preferred. Experience with health care practitioners is a plus. Experience working in a matrixed organization is needed.
