Associate — Employee Benefits

Candidate will design, drafting, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive range of employee benefits plans. Will: (1) provide ERISA fiduciary guidance and guide employers through the changing landscape of employer-sponsored health plans; and (2) provide employee benefits expertise in mergers and acquisitions and with respect to executive compensation.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: An LLM in Tax is considered. Must have a strong academic record. 2+ years of solid ERISA and employee benefits experience. Experience with executive compensation is helpful. Must have a demonstrated interest in working in a highly collaborative environment that encourages associates to work directly with clients.

The hours can be unforgiving and to manage that is your real challenge. You may need to work twelve hours a day and six days a week during certain time periods.

Pros : Bass, Berry & Sims PLC is one of the prestigious law firms to work for. I found that the quality and scope of the work is untouchable. There are very talented attorneys to learn from.
Cons : There is overwhelming amount of favoritism within management and it hurts your growth opportunities. I also found that there is also lack of quality feedback from management.
