Attorney II The candidate will advise clients on oil and gas transactional matters such as leases, operating agreements, lease trades, surface agreements, procurement and miscellaneous contracts. Will draft and/or approve the form, legality and risk of complex contracts across a range of transactions and business activities. Provide on-going advice on compliance and risk exposure for business clients in the area of applicable U.S. law and regulations, including royalty, antitrust, conflict of interest, corporate governance, etc. Provide counsel regarding various lease, statutory and regulatory obligations related to federal, state and private royalty issues. Represent the Company in negotiations with various federal agencies, state and private entities. Advise regarding policy issues such as legislation, regulations and rules of federal, state and local governments. Collaborate with other departments. Respond to requests for advice from and collaborate with internal or outside attorneys assigned to Company legal issues, etc. Work with other attorneys to manage and resolve disputes with third parties. Complete other duties and projects as assigned. Should have Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor degree. Should have 3+ years of experience practicing law focused on oil and gas issues. Must be admitted to practice law in a U.S. state or the District of Columbia. Strong communication and teamwork skills needed.
