ProfileAssistant United States Attorney The candidate will litigate on behalf of the government a wide variety of civil cases including employment discrimination, medical malpractice, constitutional claims against federal officials, personal injury, bankruptcy, collection, foreclosure, health care fraud, procurement fraud, prisoner litigation, challenges to federal agency actions, and subpoena and summons enforcement litigation. Assigned cases will include matters pending in United States District Court in both Portland and Bangor, as well as limited matters in the United States Bankruptcy Court in Portland and Bangor. Should have a J.D. degree, be an active member of the Bar (any US jurisdiction), and have 2+ years of post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience. Admission to the Maine Bar is preferred.
