Senior Counsel The candidate will be responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating “standard” and “non-standard” commercial agreements for the provision of services, with minimal supervision, and advising business/sales team of relevant issues. Managing multiple matters, internal customers and stakeholdersat a time, including complex transactions, and proactively engaging with internal stakeholders to drive a deal to closure. Applying strategic and innovative thinking to support new business, including for the review and launch of new products and services. Working closely with relevant business teams to guide them on the established company processes and provide strategic advice on how to structure the contract/ engagement. Providing training for business/sales teams. Becoming a “subject matter expert” with respect to different types of more complex transactions (for example, joint provisioning arrangements, voice outsourcing etc.) and negotiating data processing agreements. Developing knowledge of and applying skills to interface with and refer matters to other legal department teams as required; and Supporting miscellaneous know-how and best practice documentation projects, including creating and updating standard templates and acting as SPOC for cross-functional projects assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have a JD, LLB or LLM (or equivalent) degree with admission to the bar in at least one relevant jurisdiction, with at least 10 years post qualification experience in both domestic and international general corporate, commercial and contract law. Knowledge/experience related to the telecommunications and/or technology industries is necessary. Experience of managing multiple matters at a time, including complex transactions, and proactively engaging with internal stakeholders to drive a deal to closure is required.
