Litigation Assistant DUTIES: Office duties include drafting, revising and finalizing correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and other documents as well as coordinating depositions and meetings. Screen and direct incoming calls, calendar case information and client meetings, maintain electronic case files, and assist the attorneys in filing pleadings, and preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations and trials.
Qualification and Experience
Candidates must have: 3+ years as a full-time legal assistant supporting litigators. Excellent clerical skills, be well-spoken, personable, professional, and organized. This is a hands-on position that requires specific case knowledge as well as a comprehensive understanding of tasks associated with court filings and deadlines. Attention to detail and strong multi-tasking abilities are crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat is required. A working knowledge of law firm management software such as Prolaw, Clio, Time Management, Abacus, MyCase, etc. is a must, and any knowledge of ProLaw is a plus.
