IP Counsel - Trademark and Marketing The candidate will focus on providing strategic and tactical legal guidance on trademark and marketing production and asset clearance issues to clients working on a wide range of campaigns, products and initiatives. Work with creative and producers to provide legal guidance and assess risks relating to use of IP in production of consumer and business facing content and ads. Provide full range of trademark support for multiple business units. Provide IP support for creative teams developing creative assets, brand campaigns and campaign proposals for use by firm sales and marketing departments. Draft and negotiate copyright, trademark and right of publicity licenses and other production-related agreements. Advise clients in naming new products, services and features, and in developing protection strategies for new brands. Instruct, supervise and collaborate with outside counsel and cross-functional partners on trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement. Train marketing, creative and production teams on IP issue spotting, procedures and policies. Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of marketing clearance strategies and processes. Must have JD degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in one US State Bar. Should have 3+ years of legal experience. Experience with trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement is required. Experience advising clients on trademark, copyright, and right of publicity issues in marketing content is needed. Experience prioritizing under pressure in a fast-paced environment is preferred. Experience working with web, app, social networking, or internet companies is desired. Experience advising advertising agencies, entertainment studios, or production companies is helpful. Experience with music licensing is an asset.
