Senior Litigation Paralegal The candidate will assist attorneys with complex case management including factual investigation, document preparation, discovery, trial preparation and general support. Provide coaching, mentoring and training to junior paralegal and act as a resource to junior associates. Locate witnesses, prepare witness statements, interview clients and investigate facts leading to dispute. Independently perform electronic case filings (ECF) and hard copy filings with the Court. Files electronic documents in FileSite pursuant to the firm's protocol for Case Management (CM). Prepare discovery requests and responses. Review documents for privilege and draft privilege logs for attorney review. Assist with preparation of court filings, including cite and fact checking legal briefs, confirming proper Bluebook citation, assembling exhibits and appendices. Preparation for and attendance at depositions, hearings, trials and arbitrations. Communicate with clients and outside entities, such as government agencies, vendors and other law firms. Assist Practice Support in design and implementation of databases. Review and analyze large volumes of data to be produced in litigation. Responsible for all phases of trial and arbitration preparation, including tracking exhibits, assisting with technology and working with court reporters, courtroom personnel, hotel contacts, vendors, clients, witnesses and the Trial Coordinator.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree. Must have 5+ years of commercial and/or general defense litigation paralegal experience. Ability to manage all phases of litigation including discovery, bench and jury trials, appeals in state and federal courts and arbitration and mediation. Proficiency with MS Office, FileSite, SharePoint, Aderant, PACER/ECF, and other litigation software.
